I've owned more than a few rotary powered cars through the years. It's a great engine. Too bad it's going away.

Interesting engine and probably a blast to drive but from what I've read it lack torque, burns oil, and gets bad mileage. Still would like to see further advances on this engine though, always fun to see something different.

They are designed to burn oil. In fact it is injected into the combustion chambers. They make monster power for their tiny displacement, but emissions are getting more and more difficult to conform to stricter standards.

It's actually an interesting concept, but the problems with oil leaks from the gaskets and also the requirement to add oil to the gasoline like a 2-stroke don't help...
