TMC 2013 NASCAR CHAMPION,
Well as some of you know if not all of you?
Ive been thinking of putting aftermarket gauges in the ol 64 GMC. I decided to go with the Equuse 7000 series gauges (black face chrome ring). So today i cut up my other dash panel and made me a cardboard cut out of what i wanted. Then i ran out to work with my panel and cut out and grabed a piece of that stainless trim you can get for the bottom of trucks and stuff. I cut it out and trimed it down to fit were i wanted it. Placed it inside the panel and drilled some holes for the screws to mount it in the old panel. And i sanded it with 240 grit ( I dont want to have to polish the damn thing all the time)
Then i found center and marked ever inch out. I used a pint paint can to show were i want the tach and speedo and a 2" hole saw blade to show were i want the Volts, fuel, temp, and oil psi. I do plan on painting a 1/4" all the way around the panel to help hide the screws so they dont show up as bad. I marked were i think i want the brights and turn signals at. After i drill all the holes (after i buy gauges) ill sand all of the sharpie off. then im not sure yet but do think i will put the reaper temp tatoo on it or i will pinstrip it the shoot clearcoat over it when im all done with how i want it to look.
I do have other pics but ill share these for now.
