A few months ago I ordered my Amsoil oil and filter from Nick for a great price. I had a fairly fresh oil change at the time so I just got around to changing it out yesterday. So far I am very pleased.

I had been running Valvoline Synthetic and from the get go I was not really pleased with amount of lifter noise I was getting at cold start and surprisingly some at warm startup. Considering I have the AFM lifters in my truck that made me a little nervous when I got that much valvetrain noise.

So far I have had 3 totally cold starts since the oil change and literally not a split second of lifter noise. Obviously this is brand new oil so I will continue to listen closely, but I am a very happy customer so far.

Nice!

I still have my box outside from Nick that I won a few months ago. 1000 miles more miles until I'm due for a change!

That's good to know, Robert as the 5.4 Ford engines have a crapload of lifter noise! I have used Mobile 1 since it's first oil change and plan to make the switch to Amsoil soon.

It would be nice to quiet that thing down! :D

You betcha
Could care less about lifter noise with my oils. I just want a lot of ZDDP to help with wear.

When they start selling it on shelves I might try it. Until then it's too easy to buy mobil 1 everywhere I go.
