Yeah it sucks but at least it's nothing major. There was lots of coolant in the oil and white smoke so I think it's just a head gasket but I'll replace them all since i spent the extra $30 to get them all.

Well, hopefully the top-end kit does the trick! :fingersx:

Good luck with the next one!

I dont see anything wrong with the head gasket it doesn't look warn too much and it's not broken so it could be the valves or piston ring. But i dropped washers from the cylinder head bolts down the crankcase so I'm going to find out sooner or later whats the problem.

Long story short, bike is for sale. Needs a new piston, rings, cam is showing wear, bearings and a water pump seal. Basically the PO didn't like changing oil to often. Possibly getting a KTM 250 2 stroke from my parents friend but we'll see. I'm not sure if I'll like the power band of a 2 stroke and KTM parts are stupid expensive.

Hopefully I can get the bike cheap if I like it, then I will just flip it at the end of the season and get another 4 stroke.

I like the torque of 4 strokes and the snapiness in the throttle compared to a 2 stroke. You have to ride 2 strokes more aggressively on the trails because of the power band and they aren't as much fun on the track.

I wonder if the owner of the messed up bike knew it was messed up I wouldn't have been able to do that.

Dang... man... It was probably the inner seal on the water pump failed... If the head and base gaket looked good... That is a known problem with these bikes..

ktm's are exspensive to work on.. But they are nice bikes.. They deliver the power more steadily than most mx bikes.
