Locking steering in neutral

Is there any way to lock the steering in neutral on 88 automatic trany gmt400? I have to pull it with a chain and can't find any help to steer it.

I wouldn't tell if there was, it is not safe and I wouldn't do it. Get a trailer or tow bar.

I'm just moving it across a creek so a roolback can come pick it up and take it the rest of the away home.

Nobody is. Once I cross the creek is all up hill.

Use the seatbelt to "lock" it. That should be good enough for what you're doing.

It doesnt but I gotta line it first. Plus I have to put it in neutral for it to move. Its too muddy to pull the driveshaft.
