I'm just gonna have my brother weld up the holes. Seeing is how I'm getting LT's it won't hurt it because i'll have to cut some pipe off for them to clear.

Looking to replace my carb. It's beginning to give me problems and causing my truck to run funny. Can I put a new carb on my motor and not have to replace anything or would I need a new intake manifold?

What carb is on it now? I'm assuming it's a 2 barrel? If it is, you really have a few options.

1. Rebuild what you have
2. Buy a stock replacement/reman carb
3. Good chance there is an adapter plate available to go to a 4 barrel.
4. New intake

If I were replacing a carb on a relatively stock motor that's a daily driver, I would go with a Carter AFB something arou d the 625 cfm range.

I like Edelbrock carbs, but isn't 625 kinda big? I would think more like a 450 to 500.
I've used adapter plates before and you couldn't give me one as a paper weight.
If you go with a 4 barrel, save your money and get a manifold.

Greg you're probably right. I thought more about it after I posted it but didn't edit it. Been a while since I have ran any carbs that small. :lol:That being said, running a dual plane intake you can get by with a lot bigger carb. I wouldn't run smaller then a 500 in that style of carb.

That's a good kit. I'm not all about the endurashine. Yeah, its pretty but I'm done with polished stuff under the hood for anything that gets driven. Plus its cheaper to go cast finish.

But those are great carbs and manifold for a mild DD.
