One-way just sends signals to the car. Two-ways can receive signals from the car so the remote can tell you whether the car responded or not and in the case of the 5301, whether or not the car is at temp.

Thats kind of cool.

It's especially cool when you can't see or hear the vehicle to verify any other way.

Let us know what kinda range you get on your viper in a concrete parking garage. Mine isnt far at all thru thick concrete walls. :uhoh: It will work for like a frikkin 1/2 mile tho in an open parking lot. But I hear the two way range (of the truck sending a signal to the remote) is much farther than the range of the remote sending a signal to the truck. :dunno:

I don't expect it to work there at all. There are multiple buildings between mine and the garage, and I'm on the same block.

Eventually, I'll get the Smart Start system though and be able to start the fugger from anywhere.

Only bad thing is the smart start isn't 2way. :dunno:

Yet. But one-way from anywhere is still better than nothing from the same distance.

Maybe the bypass is built into my Viper setup? I didn't buy a module. Danny at Star dove under the dash and had me out the door in about 15 minutes. :dunno:

I'm not sure about the GMT900's, but I know the 03-07 GMT800's have the doorlocks controlled by the databus. :dunno:

You know a hell of a lot more than I do there Scotty. I am not the 12V expert.

As I may have mentioned on here once before, I did install remote starts and alarms professionally for a while in a shop in New Orleans a few years back. I'm mainly a "shadetree" installer now. But I have done enough gmt800 installs to know how the trucks are wired up. I have yet to work on a gmt900 tho.:dunno:
I know a LOT about the wiring in my 01, thats how I helped Tobias hook up his JVC stereo (told how to turn on the stock amp) and find the reverse wire and all.
