Ever drive a snowmobile? Think of it like that, as snowmobile drives are a type of CVT.

I will admit that butchering the English language with poor grammar does annoy the hell out of me.

And to think I was a A/B student in most subjects and a C student in English/Writing Comp.

Aside from it not continuing to wind-up and build more power, there really isn't any downside (that I've found so far) to the CVT setup in the Honda.

The way Subaru did it, though.... Underpowered vehicle and their CVTs were very slow to respond. That was one reason I bought the Outback with the 3.6. A bit more power and it had a regular transmission.

Yeah, I'm not sure about the tech. We'll see how I feel about it when I'm closer to the end of the powertrain warranty vs. now.

So far, thought, I'm seeing about 29-30 mpg going back & forth to work and I haven't exactly been babying it. So, I'm glad to see that.
