Seems that it would be common sense after the Pinto incident that one should not put the fuel tank between the bumper and axle. They're aged vehicles too and plastic gets brittle with age so I'm sure that isn't helping either. Then again, maybe people should learn to drive and stop rear ending each other (giggity).

^^^ Nice. They post a pic of a non rear-ended Jeep to get their point across about Jeeps catching fire if rear-ended. Fucking smooth.

This is nothing other than a typical "Center for Automotive Safety" witch hunt. Yet another Ralph Nader driven agenda group. Over half of the vehicles included in their own "study" could not attribute the cause of the fire to the Jeep. In other words, the car that hit them caught fire. I get pissed every time I hear about another one of these blackmail schemes that gets reported in the press as a "real threat".
