I honestly might do that. But the tires are getting bald, so that's why I'm just trying to sell em'

To each their own but you better stay away from every semi you see. From reviews people are getting more mileage out of the retreads than the bfg's.

How many car treads do you see on your average trip down the highway? I see MANY retreads from semis laying all over the place. It's okay to lose a tread when you have 17 more wheels on the road. Losing one when you have only 3 more is a different story.

Obviously, they meet some sort of standards to be allowed but I'd NEVER roll them, ever.

We can agree to disagree then. In the short time I spent driving semi I had about 500,000 miles and lost one tire. I see more than 1 car with a flat for every 18 truck tires I see and the truck tires are usually left to lay, if cars had to leave there flats where they were I bet it would be 1:1

You are comparing tread separations to flats. Those aren't even in the same ballpark.

Most of those "tread seperations" are flats that they continued to drive on. Not saying retreads are are a perfect solution for everyone but the op is in a tight spot and mentioned needing tires. If money is no object I would take new quality tires every time. On a budget I would take a quality retread over a cheap off brand tire.
