Heavy Metal Red Neck
My '02 Silverado with a 4L60E tans has aprox 205,000 miles on it. I got it at around 140,000 (ish) miles 3 1/2 years ago. Prior to me buying it it was rebuilt ( I was given the receipt for proof). Around a year after getting it I had the fluid and filter serviced by a reputable transmission shop.
6 or 7 weeks ago we replaced the rear main seal. Like fWONkIN' IDIOTS we didn't re secure the coolant lines and one got pinched by the pitman arm..

Noticed it a few weeks later. Cut out the section and replaced it with what was "supposed to be" trans hose. Coming home this morning from work I had the truck locked in cruise. ALL OF A SUDDEN my RPMs went bizerk.
I disengaged cruise to realize I couldn't go above 2nd gear or it would rev.
I limped it home in with the gear shift in 2nd for aprox 7-10 miles doing about 40 ish. Pulled in the driveway popped the hood to see trans fluid spewing everywhere.
Got up this morning to confirm what it looked like it was coming from THE HOSE THAT BURST!
Replaced it with TRANSMISSION HOSE (stamped on it) put 1 1/2 gallons of trans fluid in and it still won't get past 2nd.
Unplugged the battery (thinking there might be a low fluid safety feature) re connected and same thing. Won't get past 2nd.
Could it have destroyed 3rd in that little of a time, did I miss checking something or_____?
Thanks in advance.
