I don't use them on the road I'm just wondering if there off if cops would have a problem with them still

Probably because they don't have covers on them. Most states require factory covers over any off-road lights on the vehicle when it's driven on public roads. It's usually not a violation they can stop you for on its own (unless they're illuminated), but it makes them then look for something they can stop you for and they can then write you for both violations.

And yeah, I know this is a necro'd thread, but the info could be useful to someone else one day)

I had blue led DRLs and a cop pulled me over

My excuse was it looked cool

(and i also had 6 other people in the truck so im sure she was just looking for an excuse)

You were lucky. In a lot of jurisdictions they take a much dimmer view of such things, and I've heard (firsthand from people I know and trust) of lights being destroyed with nightsticks and felony "impersonating a police officer" type arrests that were later allowed to be plead down to misdemeanor equipment violation fines... after a night in jail and a visit to a judge.
