Still haven't figured it out, like the pad is getting smacked into the rotor..upon pressing the pedal CLANK! stops fine, no pulsing, no squeal, just CLANK!

My guess was the hardware needs greasing because the pad might be getting stuck on the rail, then it gets pressed inward and CLANK! Sounds like maybe the caliper is sticking then shooting out like a hammer strike.

CLANK!
:dunno:

Check your ball joints, everything on the front end, with it in the air.

I did that, they are damn near shot, but its for sure just the driver side front brake area, no shifting when I stop, just as soon as I push the pedal CLANK!

Pull that wheel off and inspect the brakes very closely. I had a friend who had the same thing happening on his front wheel and it turned out that one of his caliper bolts came loose. The caliper was clamping on the rotor but then being thrown out and it was hitting the inside of the wheel. Check it good and look at the wheel to see if there is any sign of something hitting it or scraping the inside of the rim.

could just be the pad not resting on the caliper like it should..did you put the retaining clamps in?

Did this start when you changed the pads? If so, it has to be something with the installation. Tear it back apart and start over to make sure everything is together correctly.
