Rethought my idea on making the extension for the adapter ...

Was going to extend the adapter with using the Caddy's metal sleeve ..

Think it would look better with having the grooves all the way down the adapter ...

Some machine work will happen in order to marry the two ...

Hoping to net a look of it being one piece ... ??

Waiting for the cruise control to show up, need to run the wires down inside the column ...

The adapter extension will be somewhat time consuming to make happen, after the union been accomplished it will be powder coated and the tops of the grooves polished ...
Then powder coated again with a clear coat ...

Then some machine work will be needed for the telescopic lock lever to function properly ...
( As been said "Welcome to the World of Custom " )

Trim off the fat down to the same size as the rest of the grooves, do a counter bore for a light press fit ...

Cut the donor to having about 1.250" of extension with a 1/4 inch lip to press into the adapter keeping the grooves the same size all the way down ...

If I do a good job with the union it'll look like it was made one piece ...
That's the plan, now to make it so !

Since GM thought it was a good idea to use a strut rod that ties the transfer case to the motor, I figured why not ..

Came up with a Oem strut rod made for the THM 350 trans and the NP 203 transfer case ..
Being I got the weird going on with having installed a 4L85E and two adapters to bolt the 203 to the overdrive trans, got to add about six inches to the rod ..

Knew the rod was going to be short, but damn !!

Had to buy another oil pan cause the one I had was made for circle track racing .. Had bat-wings sticking out ... Wouldn't allow for the motor to trans strut rods ..

Problem solved ..

Even got room to run a super filter ..

The idea here is to keep the drivetrain from coming apart under hard usage ...
Not that I'm planning to beat on the old girl ..

( But ya never know, might find myself at a truck pull and got Jack Daniel's riding shotgun, just might hook her up to the sled ... Exhibition pull mind ya )

You've definitely had some hurdles with this build. 2 steps back to take 3 steps forward.
