I miss my boat. I want one of these.

NO!

Don't buy a ProCraft boat! That's exactly what my last boat was and it was awful. It handled like a cement truck in the water and drove worse than any boat I have ever owned. I would not recommend one to anybody.

Wow... That prop is pretty legit looking... is that blade bent.. or it pitched that much...

You should look for a Gambler bass boat :ohnoes:

If i had 3 more jobs...no g/f... and had no bills... I would have a gambler....

Not bent. Just a stainless holeshot prop with lots of pitch.

I have always been a fan of alumacraft boats. But I'm a pure fisherman.

Alumacraft makes a well built boat. There are a couple of dealers in these parts, but not many.

IMO if you get a boat like Lund, Alumicraft, Craftsman, Monarch, Tracker, etc. most of the time the design and quality are going to be the same. They may be finished off differently, but structurally for the most part they are similar. Also, with these boats, the hull isn't what you are going to have to worry about in the long run so close dealers don't really matter except for going to buy the boat. The most maintenance will be on the motor which can be done by yourself or any professionally... either way the dealership is almost one stop shopping.

My dad and I have only taken our boat back to the dealership once for the motor. It needed a tune-up because it was giving us issues. That's in the 12 years we have owned it. The dealership is 1 - 1.5 hours away depending on traffic.

I guess what I am trying to say is unless gas is a huge issue for picking up the boat, get what you want and have fun with it.

Of course it isn't uncommon for my dad and I to drive 4 hours to get to the lake we are fishing at for the day. So I my see it differently:dunno::lol:.

I tend to agree. I am most certainly leaning toward a welded aluminum boat. Many of the names you mention are actually over 500 miles from me... but Alumacraft and Tracker are pretty accessible.

:( Well I guess that does make a little bit of a difference.

Either way you should end up with a good setup. If you guys host boat shows I would wait until then because they usually have some sweet deals during those.

When we got ours it was during the yearly Minneapolis Boat Show and they threw in a free leather cover and extra seat, and discounted an electronics package (depth finder/trolling motor).

Anything to cut costs is always good!

The last boat we had was a Champion bass boat. We loved it. I just looked and it looks like they discontinued the Champion name and merged them with Stratus.

It handled awesome and was definitely stout enough to pull a skier.
