sorry, not trying to preach, I have ridden without a helmet many times, I just like the feel of the Arai's.

I used to wear the HJC brand half-helmet. They were nice and came with a leather ear muff thing that zipped on and kept the ears warm when it got cold.

The difference between a full face helmet and an open face helmet is a closed casket vs open casket funeral.

Different model helmets fit different head shapes, always try on a helmet in person before you buy, make sure it's comfortable.

That is the problem I am facing. I will not buy a helmet beofre I try it on. I agree 100%. The problem is I do not know what to look for and where. So I am trying to narrow my search on here, then hit the bike shops.

I have a skull cao just like that. But considering I am about to enter a career in law enforcement, I figured it is best that I wear a legal DOT approved helmet.
