Well as I was sitting on the phone in my truck I had the key turned on but not running and sure enough when I went to crank it, it was dead. It tried but wouldn't turn over :fume: Matt is giving me a jump after our classes this afternoon so that's good. (Thanks Matt)

So I want to get a new battery (this one has been giving me problems for a while!) but don't wanna spend a arm & a leg for one. So what do yall recommend? The only electronics I'm running are a double din headunit, radar detector &
My gryphon. I don't plan on updating to some crazy sound system just all new components all the way around and a amp. But that's a while from now.

Any Suggestions? I've heard good things about Sears platinum batteries and Napa :dunno:

I have it in both the Tahoe and my Jetta. I have had no problems with them whatsoever.

It's not heaven . . . it's Iowa!
My factory battery bit the big one after a weekend of -10°F temps last winter. I tried to jump it and no dice. I went and bought a Napa battery (mainly because they were close and cheap). I put it in and it started right up! I figure if it could bring back my cold, lifeless truck like that, it must be a good one!

I don't have a lot of electronics and it doesn't sit for more than 1 day at the most, so I can't attest to that. :dunno:

I have the one Daddy mentioned in mine as well, just put it in a month ago. You can find coupons for Advanced for like 35 off of 70, just go to www.retailmenot.com

I ordered online and picked up in the store, easy as pie.

I put one in the Silverado when the Optima Red Top died after three years, I'm not impressed with Optima. I got the Advance Auto Gold with the highest cranking amps, mainly because I wanted the highest CCA's personel preference. :)

I also have one in my 91 Jetta and it is going on 6yrs now and seems to be doing well. I probably just jinked myself but hey it lasted 6yrs and that diesel pulls some amps for the glow plugs and has high compression around 450psi per cylinder when I did a compression check.:)

Auto Zone Gold battery or Wal Mart. My buddy has the Auto Zone battery in his car it's 11 years old and still doing good. Both have free three years free replacement but Auto Zone gives you 8 years to pro rate.
