Hyundai shows America how its properly done

Leather, good stereos, dual ac units for SUV's, etc are pushing them to the top, albeit slowly. But, if you can take a car to 200-300k miles and have no problems and still have the same MPG, who cares about resale value. You have already gotten your moneys worth 10 times over compared to most makers. Plus, most over 2x as much warranty as most US makers, right from the buy, not an added on extended warranty.

Just saying.

I don't really have anything against US auto makers, but I do have something against any maker who will only guarantee their car for 3 years or 36k miles. Doesn't make me have any confidence in them.

Well, I'll agree with you on the CAR market, but America has the trucks and SUV market wrapped up. All the things you mentioned in the first two sentences, can be said for American trucks and SUV's.

And that's simply because thats been where the America is going towards. American automakers cars have been suffering for years now.

American carmakers are putting out vastly improved models. The competition from Kia / Hyundai and the other foreign manufacturers finally has them in high gear. I think the vehicles produced over the next 10 years may well be the best quality we have ever had.

Everybody wins when competition gets tight.

Never really been a fan, and my friend that is a mechanic says the Kia's are pieces of junk, but then again I bet he hasn't seen a new one in the shop either, so maybe it was just their old POS.

^They have a tall fence to climb to get over their old reputation. Even as late as 05-06 their cars were not all that great. The last generation of cars have made HUGE gains. I guess we'll see how huge as time goes by.

Yeah I've ridden in two Kias in my life and I'm surprised we got to where we were going. It was like riding in a go cart, but not as fun

Hopefully they are better than the '09 models...or at least my bosses. His kia crapvan is in the shop at least once a month, and the interior is falling apart. He'd sell it if he could...don't really know why he can't, though.

Never been in a Hyundai, so I have no opinion on those.
