I'd suggest just driving it for a bit before ordering anything to see how it shakes out. I don't think you are going to have any issues, based on my experience. :dunno:
I don't suspect any issues either but you never know. This isn't the correct way to lower a truck. The correct way involves going to the dealership and getting a 2WD in the first place. I mean who in their right mind would want to lower a 4WD truck.:dunno:

Only you 2 bastards.
Make that 3!

Good write-up Jarrod.

Also, FTR, each truck is different when it comes to how much lift/drop you get with 1 turn of the torsion bar. It could take you 10 cranks to get 2" of lift while the next guy only needs 7 cranks to get 2".

Only drove it about 30 miles today. Tomorrow night will be my usual trip back to Houston. 250 miles and I should be able to notice something on that trip.:dunno:

Should've noticed something by now...

I can usually tell when my tires are 3 PSI lower than what they should be

A little update on the lowering job. After removing the blocks in the rear the bump stops were touching the rear end housing, at first it didn't seem to make much difference. The more I drove it it just had a weird attitude to it when you hit a bump. The rear end was virtually solid sitting on the bump stops.

So I looked at some 2WD trucks and realized I should remove the brackets on the frame that the bumps were mounted to and bolt them back to the frame. This would get them out of contact with the rear end housing and allow the shocks and springs to pick up some of the bounce. Rides much better now.

The way it was sitting.

Pretty easy to fix, I jacked up the truck and supported the frame on stands. Removed the rear wheels and lowered the rear end to give me access to the brackets.

Used a 15mm socket and removed the 2 bolts holding the bracket in place. Removed the bump stop from the bracket.

Re installed the bump stop on the frame, holes are already there.

Wheels back on and truck on the ground. Bumps aren't touching.

Now the one thing this did was dropped the rear end another 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch. I tried to de-crank the T-bars but I am maxed out for dropping. So I have ordered some broaxed keys from Belltech. These should give me the extra I need to get it level again. It's not real noticeable but I know it has a Cali lean to it.
