I may just take you up on it sometime this summer. It only takes an hour or so to do and really no special tools. With your truck sitting up high we might not even need a jack.

$20 and a quart of trans fluid and that's all you need. I only lost about a cup full of fluid doing mine.

Honestly I can't stand seeing someone else work on my vehicles. I would definitely have to get my hands dirty and then drink the beer. Of course this would all be done while the ribs and chicken were on the pit. :drinking:

Awesome!

This has been on my list for a few years. I'm a little apprehensive about it. Maybe this summer.

No reason to be apprehensive.

You can always just buy the part, take it to the local tranny shop, pay a few bucks, leave with it installed. You can do it yourself but you're a busy guy and this way, they are responsible for getting it right!

Good point.

The main reason I've been putting it off is because I want to learn to do more of this stuff on my own.

I need to quit talking myself out of it and man up and do it.

If that's the plan, yeah, do it yourself. This one is about as easy as they come.

So, did you do it yet? I prolly need to do this to mine. I am pretty sure my '02 has the right tranny for this. Can anybody verify it for me?

If you have an 02 Silvy like I do then yes you have the correct transmission.
