I have always taken my 67 Camaro and other muscle cars to the body shop that did the paint on them for cleanings and waxes every 6 months. I asked for this to be included in the price of the job and it was amazing how cheap it was for basicly a life time of every six month details as shown in this tread. The last time i did was on my 69 SS396 Chevelle. I paid an extra $1600.00 for the paint job and that price included transfering the details to the next owner ( 1 time deal) if or in this cars case when I sold it. They would have it for 2 days for work and would display it for it one day. They also did the underside and cleaned floor pans etc. It was good deal.
My Camaro was going to cost $2500.00 extra and I passed on it this time.
After seeing this thread it was filled with great tips that will keep my black truck looking great and the black on my 67 Camaro looking awsome when it's done, the paint on it is 2002 Plymouth Prowler Pearl Orange and House of Colors High gloss Black.
I think one of the best things about this tread is that F150!!! That is one bad ass thruck.....it looks awsome. I think it's one of the best looking F150's I have seen. I like the fact that it's just slightly appointed with aftermarket to dress up the basicly stock appearance.
I posted the above as something to possibly consider when having paint work done and when selling the vehicles I have always gotten my return on that investment easly. I passed on the Camaro because it's not going anyplace anytime soon (I will die first) and the work is being done about 120 miles from home now instead of in town. Threads like this get lazy or willing to pay people to start doing these things them selves.
It's funny I would tear apart and rebuild an entire car but hated major detaling work. At 45 I like doing it now maybe because i don't have to work as much overtime as used to!! LOL!!
