ok well it looks like im going to have to do the crank relearn then. the the truck im wanting this for is my daily driver.

Any mechanic with a Tech 2 can perform the crank relearn for you. You can drive your vehicle without it, but it will perform more optimally when you have it done.

Many times yes, but since you have a 96, more than likely, you won't need it.
