Welcome man! I need advice on what exhaust to run. I don't have any other mod's done right now but I want a good deep throaty sound even at idle and I want to hear it roar when I go down the road.

How about what this guy has

K&N 63 Series AirCharger Intake / DiabloSport Predator U7137 tuned by Hemifever / Crane 216 with 6.1 Springs & Pushrods / Hedman Long Tube Headers / 2.5" Mandrel Bent True Duals / No Catalytic Converters / H-Pipe / Dynomax Race Bullets with Turndowns / Circle D HP-I 2800-3000 / Sonnax Line Booster / Motive 4.56 Gears / Jet 180* T-Stat
[YT]wHKy_B53ZDw[/YT]

Thanks, that was this system.

That sounds awesome, but I don't have the money to do all that.

Actually its less then you think, but most of the tone you hear is due to the reversion of the cam "lope".

Listed with Summit Part Numbers:

FLO-15925 - Flowmaster Ball Flange Kit - $89.95
HED-18806 - Hedman Universal Header X-Tensions - $22.95
SUM-642025 - Summit Racing® Balance Tube Kit - $39.95
WLK-24215 - Dynomax Race Bullet Muffler - $39.95 x 2 = $79.90
WLK-41437 - Dynomax Mandrel-Bent 45* Elbow - $17.25 x 2 = $34.50

Total = $267.25 + Shipping

This is minus the LT headers
, which mine were $280 ish when I got em.

Flowmasters or just for sound. That Red ram that mark posted is the same truck i posted. I'm gona try to get him on here.

Well here I am lol

Yep... I noticed that.. The exhaust sounds different tho

I wonder if they were taken with different performance mods done

The first video was take without a cam, the second with and also with a different exhaust as you can see.

Here is the first system with the cam:

[YT]gPSMlEMcssc[/YT]

Alot more mods  The truck has even more mods done sinse the video you posted. He changes exhaust like underwear. I just sent him a message on another forum inviting him to come visit. If there is anyone that can give good info on exhaust and mods for dodges its this guy.

I believe hes running low 13's

You are correct, much more has and is in the works of being done. The only reason I am still in the 13's is because of the heat, in cooler weather should be seeing the 12's.

My current mod list performance wise:

Crane 216 - HHP/BES Stage 3 .030 Milled Heads - Manley 6.1 Pushrods - K&N 63 Series AirCharger Intake - DiabloSport Predator U7137 - Zeitronix Zt-2 - Flex-a-lite 183 Black Magic Xtreme - Summit Racing 20% Underdrive Pulley - Hedman Long Tube Headers - 2.5" Mandrel Bent True Duals - No Catalytic Converters - Pypes X-Pipe - Pypes M-80 Mufflers with Turndowns - Circle D 258mm Pro I 3200-3400 - Sharadon Stage III Trans - PML Extra Deep Trans Pan - 1 Ton Trans Cooler - Motive 4.56 Gears - Jet 180* T-Stat - CalTracs - 2/4.5 Drop - Hoosier Slicks
I need advice from him.

Ask away!

Here is my current exhaust system:

I am assuming I need cam work to sound like that? I would love for my truck to sound like that.

Welcome man! I need advice on what exhaust to run. I don't have any other mod's done right now but I want a good deep throaty sound even at idle and I want to hear it roar when I go down the road.

To have a good sounding idle the cats must go or at least install Magnaflow Spun-Cats, they have a very small catalyst so there muffling effect is minimal. Also stay away from any chambered muffler if you do not like drone and want the best performance possible.

If you want a exhaust that will make others drool and will be patent until the mufflers break in I have just the idea for you. Read from this and make your own decision.

True duals will always have the best sound to it. If you like a growl use a X-Pipe and if you like more of a rumble go with a H-Pipe. You will have the loudest idle if you remove your cats. The tone will not change due to the cats being hot or not. If you want to keep it legal then Spun-Cats are your next best bet. For mufflers you need to chose accordingly to whether you go catless or not. Since I am a guy that does not even mind open headers I am subject to recommend louder then most would like. Holding back and trying my best to think what a good medium would be I come up with this.

With cats I would run Pypes M-80's or Dynomax Race Bullets.

Without cats I would run Dynomax Ultra Flows or a comparable sized Magnaflow.

Run 2.25" piping for the whole system as your downpipes are that size.

Since they are glass filled mufflers they will get deeper and louder over time. Do not judge buy how it sounds after the install. Also if its just loud enough at that time for you then rest assured when it breaks in odds are it will be to loud for ya.

Not sure if I helped but if I didn't pick my brain more...

I am assuming I need cam work to sound like that? I would love for my truck to sound like that.

To have that idle you will need a cam. Without the cam my idle would be pretty tame sounding.

BORLA XR-1 that is all

Or you could save your money and get a straight through designed muffler that is similar in size. There great mufflers but expensive and no better then a Magnaflow/Dynomax/Pypes straight through muffler.

I think I am going to go with true duals and use Dynomax Race Bullets. I am unsure of which I want to use regarding X or H pipe though. I am going to talk to the best Exhaust shop in town today after work and see what they recommend. They did my exhaust on my F-150 and I had the best sounding F-150 I had heard around my area. Hopefully they can point me in a closer direction.
