They get louder....trust me. I like it because there is no interior drone plus they are stainless.

My dad has a Magnaflow 3" in and out muffler which I believe is a 14" case model and it sounds great IMO. He has an 05 Ram with the Hemi. He did have a longer magnaflow muffler and it was too quiet.
My shit is loud as hell.Borla or magnaflow hands down. They sound good and are not as restrictive as flowmasters chambered muffler.
Stock manifolds and converters will make a truck quiet no matter wat muffler you put on it. Unless its an older truck and the converters are falling apart or if it has no converter. If loud is what you want then you might have to take another route than just a muffler.

Still Here Because I'm Not There
I am running an 18" glasspack on mine, and it is pretty damn aggressive. It does not drone, but it is pretty loud! I am very pleased with it, and it was way cheaper than the "name brands". Here is a clip.....I think.

Mine is alot louder and deeper. Still sounds good though.

Mine has actually gotten louder since the video, that was right after it was installed. It is a lot deeper than it sounds, it kind of over-ran the crappy camera mic.
