We are in a series of peaks. Might as well get used to it. It's not going anywhere but UP in the future, but we'll have small windows of "lower" prices to keep us feeding on the tit.

And the important thing is to not do anything to get more oil or use less.

As long as Americans can maintain something close to their current comfy existence, you aren't going to see large scale demands for improvements. Pretty lazy bunch in general, we are.

The gas prices are being rigged by the large oil companies, THEY figured out that they could shut down a couple refineries, charge the consumer more per gallon, and make even more money than with all the refineries running. They've done this because the scare tactics they've been using about the oil coming from the gulf being cut off aren't driving prices up enough.

BTW Canada is the largest producer of oil to the US, we replaced Saudia Arabia over 7 years ago. Theres no shortage of oil at all, just fear mongering by those who stand to gain copious amounts of money.
