My buddy said it sounds like the flywheel is broken..IDK.. :dunno:

DO you have an auto trans? I could believe a flexplate to be broken but not a flywheel, if your flywheel is broken you`d either be picking up the pieces scattered all over the road. or at least have a terrible vibration!

If so, there should be small inspection cover behind oil pan or on bell housing, it may be hard to see but typically cracks develop between the bolt holes on the flexplate, and can cause clicking clanging noises, typically right after startup, and can sometimes go away when warm, or appear at certain rpms.

Can you tell if its coming from the front or rear of the engine.. If you cannot tell. I'd take the belt off and run it.

Does it do it idling in neutral .... In gear with brakes on at idle?

I had a spring on a starter break that made a similar noise.

I'd check the bolts holding the flexplate on,had one once where one bolt came loose and was hitting the inspection cover.made a hell of a noise

I noticed it while foot slightly on brake, slowly turning to get out from behind someone who decided to stop completely and just sit there in a kroger parking lot.:fume:

Then randomly at stop lights ..it was getting attention from nearby drivers at the stop lights..all looking downward below my truck as if afraid something was going to break off and hit them.:dunno:

Doesnt happen noticably while driving or if I rev it..only low rpms and braked-turning..

I'm putting another decal on that says "if you have a problem with my decals, talk to the woodchipper" :chipper:
