So youve got the whole rolling chassis, all you need to do is swap cab and bed?

That chassis doesnt have a solid axle on it already?

We need pics, man!
Chevy trucks have independent front suspension from '88 on, even 3/4 and 1 tons.

Old body style 3500s were available until 1991. Solid axle.
I forgot they did that.
My friend's father has an '89 2500 with a 454 and IFS.

Ok. Make long story short. I was told thats its impossible or too much work to go 2wd to 4wd on a 2wd frame. I had someone tell today that cab, suspension, etc. bolts up different on 2wd frame than 4wd frame. Plus making the cut out in the cab for 4wd shifter. He said I'm probably better off doing a solid axle swap conversion. Basically he was telling me there's more work than just swapping the stuff off 2wd frame over to the 4wd frame and would be too much work.

Can't you just swap the entire frame out?

That would just mean removing the cab, box, and engine....wouldn't it?

I still have to cut hole out the cab for the 4wd floor shifter and find the right cable that will work with it and the trany/transfercase.

So what's the word? (please, no references to a song by Korn)

Are you still interested in making the swap or will you let this one slip by?

I'm interested but this guy I talked kinda acted it was too much work and solid axle swap/conversion on the 2wd frame would be better.
