You have a dealer problem.

Not a GM problem.

That's too bad.

Ya and it's even worse that I work there.

I have been told things like that before. Driven to another dealer, and had my "no fix" issues taken care of with a smile. Then I buy vehicles from them.

There are so many of these on the road, and there are fixes for these things. I hope he gets it all worked out
That is true, he taking it into a different dealership in the morning to see if they have a fix for it. I still think either way he is going to try something different.

He's hoping he can find a Ram that he likes along with a yellow srt8 challenger he's been wanting since they started re-making them.

That stinks that the dealership is useless (been there). When it comes to a full-size truck you really can't go wrong with any of them. They'll all have some with problems made worse by shitty dealers but the majority will be mostly problem free.

As stated before... you have a dealer problem.

That being said, I would use that as the MAIN consideration between Ford and Dodge (since you already know how your GM dealer is..). I live in a populated area, so if I don't like one dealer (of any brand), another dealer is only 5-10 minutes away.... not every place is like that. So if your GM dealer sucks and there's not another GM dealer for 50 miles, i'd find out who has the best local dealer reviews between the Ford and Dodge trucks and lean towards that brand...

I have a friend who would not drive a GM truck if he got it for half price. He is a Ford guy through and through. I like my GM trucks and probably would not even stop in at Ford or Dodge if I was hunting another truck...

We all have favorites and we all have had bad experiences. I hope your dad finds something that pleases him.

That is the problem, the next GM dealership is a ways away. Very true, but there are also a dodge and ford dealership in town and in the next town they also have dealerships.

That isn't too bad. I think my Dad was getting around 20-21 highway and 17-18 city. Does Dodge have the technology that cuts back to 6 cylinders when all 8 aren't needed?

My Dad has been that way since he started driving. I think he has owned only 1 non GM truck since he was 16 and it was his brothers that he got pretty cheap. He does realize that it is the dealership that he hates dealing with but he thinks that he wants something different and the styling of the Dodge appeals to him. Maybe I'll attempt to get him to join the forum. :tmc:

I can most certainly understand him being frustrated. You pay damn good money for these trucks. Dealers should be willing to work out issues.

The very reason I dont buy new.

Well, that and I save 10 grand or more off sticker.

I dont care how rich I ever get, you'll never see me driving a new vehicle off the lot
