My Dad has had his '10 for 8 months and this thing is a POS just like his '07. After being a GM customer since he was 16 he has had it (to put it lightly). With his '07, the brake lights would come on and not shut off with the vehicle, of course not under warranty and cost $800 to fix. Like I said, his '10 is 8 months old and the front bumper is covered in rust. If that's not bad enough the thing shakes as it's idling. Anyways he takes it in last week and they don't have a fix for it, but like they said, it may start blowing black smoke when driving. So we go on a road trip and they were right it was blowing black smoke under hard acceleration or going up hill. So he takes it in again and they say that it doesn't sense the octane of the gas but they still can't fix it. Here is there recommendation "Drive it 11 km after every fill up before shutting the vehicle off." Complete BS and the thing will be traded off ASAP.

Anyways enough ranting, he really likes the new Rams and may even consider an F-150. Anyone have any insight onto how reliable these have been over the last 5 or so years? That is mainly his concern since he likes the look of both of them.
Also how bard are the HEMI's on fuel?

You have a dealer problem.

Not a GM problem.

That's too bad.

Dodge has made huge advancements in their trucks but I would still go with the Ford.

Its hard to outweigh the issues that you could have with Dodge/Ford...

In my experience he would be better sticking with GM

I would rather have those problems than inherit other makes problems..

Ya and it's even worse that I work at the fWONkin place, terribly structured imo.

I have been told things like that before. Driven to another dealer, and had my "no fix" issues taken care of with a smile. Then I buy vehicles from them.

There are so many of these on the road, and there are fixes for these things. I hope he gets it all worked out
