Basically, I was under the truck today, I'm a big guy, I dont have lifts or anything to put the truck on so I barely fit under there .. I saw where the oil filter was and where the nut to drain was .. I cant really get under there though .. a friend at work said He'd do it for 10 bucks . . Probably will just go that route

go to autozone or one of your local autopart's stores and buy a Rhino Ramp. Two different weight limits; one can hold up to 8000lbs. and the other can hold up to 12,000lbs. they are $35 and $45 respectively.

thats good to know, I pick those up, so I can do it my self...

I change the oil in my Burb myself.Being lifted I use a creeper to go under it.I take my wifey's Burb to a local car wash where they change the oil(they have what I use) and get a very nice vacuum, wash and detail afterwards for $32.00.

It's not heaven . . . it's Iowa!
There's a couple of local mechanics down the road from the office. I go to one of them that'll do it for $25 or $30. In the winter when the truck is dirty and it's fWonking cold out, I'll have them do it sometimes.

A buddy in college always had trouble with Jiffy Lube. If they actually remembered to tighten everything back up, they were trying to get him to service this or that. "Well we were changing the oil, we should probably grease your muffler bearing while we're down there. Your blinker fluid was low too." It was a real PITA

Change my own and about twenty others as well. The Rhino ramps are great. Lightweight and will not slide on you like metal ones. Also I have the Fumoto oil valve. Makes changing the oil even that much easier. No wrenches to mess with. Oh and a tip, use a ziplock bag over the oil filter once you get it loose. That way it will catch all the oil coming down and around it and keep it off your hands.:)
If there is no other choice but to have it done somewhere else. Search out a place that will let you watch them change it. That way you at least know it got changed and the oil you purchased was installed.

I change mine myself. I used to be able to slide right under my Suburban (stock height) and I'm 6ft 275lbs. But since I added the nerf bars, I have to use the rhino ramps (which I already have for changing the oil on my wifes nissan). Lugging out the ramps, drain pan and tools and all and then cleaning up after I'm done, takes me about 20 mins or so start to finish to change my oil.

I used to just go to the quickie change places, never had any problems. Over the last year though the price at them have sky rocketed. $40 for dino and a shitty filter!!! I do it myself now and use Mobil 1, my truck was only changed once at the quickie, after that it's synth every 4-5k in the driveway. The local GMC dealer (Sisbarro) still does it for $20, but the line at their lube center is to the street by 7, and I enjoy doing it myself anyways.
