For $400, they probably did both. Replaced the cluster, and programmed it with his correct mileage.

Reflashing does nothing for bad stepper motors which is the problem. Too bad your dad didn't opt for only spending $189. It only takes 5 minutes to remove the cluster.

Well, he's the one with $200 lighter pockets.

 

I told him too! He doesn't like doing anything to his vehicles now that everything is all "computerized"

So in other words, he's a pussy.
