GM pickups to adopt active grille louvers for fuel economy?

This is one low tech mod that makes sense. Wonder if they will adopt it?

Though, they'd better do some cold weather testing to make sure those things don't freeze up!

If they're not rated for -50*C or -60*C there's going to be issues

The Lincoln Mark VIII use to drop a whole 1" I think when it was up at cruising speed.

I'm sure they'll be electronic. They could always disable them if tow/haul is on and I'm sure they'll have several requirements before it shuts off the grill including engine temp, tranny temp, A/C load, etc...

Yeah. These would be variable, depending on the amount of air needed for cooling.

i still for-see failures in which it causes overheating. they should make them springed so they fail open

I want wings that deploy at 70+ and help with lift to keep my truck lighter. When I get finished with my HHO system it will be the coolest.
