Wow the hostility in this thread. I had to go to a 7500 mile oil interval to even notice my 2006 using any oil. I think GM has made some great motors. They have been swapped into practically everything.

The interior in my 2006 suits me fine. Other than one rattle I had to take care of it's quiet. My 1990 was silent as well, it got beat down dirt roads its whole life. Both comfy and laid out well.

That said I'm a complete GM "fanboi", and I think the GMT800 platform was the best made by any manufacturer ever in the world, ever. But I do think the current GM HD frames are rock solid. My opinion.
If you read this thread in whisper tone, its not so bad.

I loved my GMT400 and my GMT800.

I cannot say the same for my GMT900.

I have love everyone of our GM trucks. My 400,800, and 900.

That being said I loved the 4 Fords we had before that 74 F250, 85 F350, 89 Ranger, and a 92 F350.

I will most likely be back in a GM on my next one. I'm just enjoying a paid for truck with everything I need plus a Maggie.

I can definitely understand why people, even loyal customers would be driven away from GM after having some of the issues I've heard about.
