That photo is a new Silverado LTZ...it looks like a cartoon abomination, even next to the Ford which hasn't seen a major redesign in years.

We all get that you love GM Brian...that doesn't mean everyone else HAS to agree with you. Long-winded rants aimed at anybody who doesn't bow down to the bowtie are not helping change minds, nor are they going to draw or keep new members to this site. Worship your brand on your own time, and quit beating everyone else up with it.

The irony in this post is giving me a nose bleed :jester:

I am proud of you though, Wayne. Your GM bashing has all but ceased :D2

That's okay, Jeff has your back.

Jeff, no mfr is free from defects, or issues. We all have to judge what is acceptable, I guess. Your sample size is small, in my opinion. Leaking PS lines and a squeal are far from the demise of GM. I have purchased about 30 new trucks over the last 8 years for work trucks, all American brands. 4 of the '07 3500s and 350s we have are well over 160k. Issues with quality really show when they are subjected to multiple drivers and high mileage.

What you and I judge as quality and failure are on the opposite ends of the spectrum, obviously :D2

That dash in that pic is horrid, BTW :D2

Really Scott? After all that, you think I am down on GM because of leaky PS lines and a squeal? Seriously?

And I thought Brain had reading comprehension issues.

It looks like that dash is giving birth to the center stack.

Dammit, I'll never look at that dash the same.

Really.

And yes, I do realize all mfrs have issues.

I just happen to believe that GM has more than most others and since I have ZERO brand loyalty...to ANY mfr, I will buy what I like the best, regardless of the badge on the grill.

Even if I thought the current GM trucks were built just as well as the others, I think they are butt-ugly.

My previous two '07 MY trucks were fantastic. I sold one at 29K, and the other made it close to 200K before it was written off. I didn't even change any fluids on it except for the engine oil. GM's reliability is probably the best in the industry, IMO.

I'm going to be looking hard at the '15 F-150 Platinum with the 2.7L EcoBoost which supposedly produces better results than the 5.3L and the RAM's EcoDiesel.

...There are a lot of people out there who might love to have the truck you are complaining about.

You wanna buy mine?

Seriously.

Low miles (52K), upgraded ball joints and brake rotors.

Just needs PS lines (leaky) and whatever is causing an intermittent squeal in my engine bay (likely a bearing in the alt or AC). It's not real loud yet, can't hear it unless you are stopped next to a wall or in a garage with the window open.

I like to buy new, personally. Otherwise I would! I don't know if it would be worth it for me to buy your truck being that I could probably get a new truck within the ball park of what you could get for your truck with low miles, unless it has a lot of rust under it...

That being said, I just bought a new truck. I don't own the one in my signature anymore. I didn't want to buy tires for the 2011 so I got a 2014... I was able to build the dump bed we wanted/needed with a upgraded hoist and wireless remote. Even though the old truck had over 42k miles I was able to get a truck with the better Duramax engine and only financed an additional 12 months.

I don't know where the business was when you were on this forum previously but we had 3 trucks that were fuel killers.

05 Chevy 2500hd CC 4x4 WITH 4fWONkIN10s
99 Chevy 3500HD
98 Topkick 6500

Getting the 2011 saved me a ton on fuel...

My old LMM was a garage queen and I eventually sold it...

Wish I would have kept it!

Wow the hostility in this thread. I had to go to a 7500 mile oil interval to even notice my 2006 using any oil. I think GM has made some great motors. They have been swapped into practically everything.

The interior in my 2006 suits me fine. Other than one rattle I had to take care of it's quiet. My 1990 was silent as well, it got beat down dirt roads its whole life. Both comfy and laid out well.

That said I'm a complete GM "fanboi", and I think the GMT800 platform was the best made by any manufacturer ever in the world, ever. But I do think the current GM HD frames are rock solid. My opinion.
