Well I have never heard that, but unless you are also lowering the filter (meaning some type of modification) then the extra quantity of the pan really should have no relevance on the normal running level.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, just because the pan holds X number of quarts more, doesn't mean you can run the level X number of quarts lower than stock and still be ok. Does that make any sense?:dunno:

Yeah that makes sense I was just curious about measuring to see if its full. I know I have to take whatever I drained as of now and add 4.5 more quarts on top of that. So for example if I would be adding 6 quarts to refill it with the stock pan, I will now be adding 10.5 quarts back into it.

I wouldn't add it all at one time...
Add what a stock pan would take then use the dipstick and check it...add a little bit at a time ... checking the level frequently...till is is full.

make sure your on level ground with the trans at operation temp with the engine running while you checking the level.
