ARLINGTON, Texas - General Motors Co. is adding 110 jobs to a Texas factory and investing $331 million to expand the plant to make full-size sport utility vehicles.
The Arlington, Texas, factory will make Chevrolet Tahoes and Suburbans, GMC Yukons and Cadillac Escalades. It now has 2,400 employees.
Thursday's news is part of an effort GM announced May 10 to create or keep about 4,000 jobs by investing $2 billion in 17 factories in eight states. The auto maker also said Wednesday that it would add 2,500 jobs at a Detroit-area factory and invest $69 million in that plant so it could make two new Chevrolet sedans.
Shares of General Motors fell 55 cents to $30.73 in afternoon trading.
