Thought I'd oblige....I know it's an old cast iron engine but pretty clean none the less,140,000+
Earlier this year when I swapped in adjustable rockers,10W-30 Castrol GTX dino.

A little more stained but that could be that it's older, the dino oil is more likely to soak in and stain metal, machining process are making less porous metal, or that iron is more likely to stain than aluminum. Whatever caused the staining (over thought that one just a bit) it's still really clean!

I'm now on Medicare,officially old.
When I opened it up I was really surprised how clean it was,that valve cover was untouched.Oil & filter every 4-5,000.
In '08 I changed the cam,this is from that change...

Now that I'm back home and can get on TMC on my computer, hard to do much on the phone, I can get caught up.

Nick, you can use mine too. I use nothing but Amsoil now, and Mobil1 Synthetic before, and I don't have a single engine failure thread!
