I would be interested in that if I were commuting a long way. I just wish they would get off there ass and put a small diesel in one of these cars. A 1.6L Turbo diesel in a fiesta would get 65-70 MPG.

Back here there are some 1.4L turbodiesel ones, but made only for export because in Brazil any vehicle with a payload under 1-ton is not allowed to have diesel engine, except those 4WD hi/lo ones or if it carries the driver and at least more 9 passengers :facepalm:

But no restrictions for BIODIESEL :jester:

I'm amazed at how many people think this is something new. Europe and many other parts of the world have been driving 1.0 liter cars (some boosted - some not) for many years.

Even in the U.S. wasn't the GEO Metro offered with a 3cyl 1.0L engine for the hatchback?
