I drove it down to a friend of mine's shop, that he works at. I took it down there last summer and I like the place. (I usually change my own oil, but the way this Ford's engine compartment is designed, I end up having oil run down one of the skid plates and/or dumping oil all over the driveway.)

I went down below the truck and watched the 1 year old, Mobile 1, oil come out. It sure was black but looking at it further, it wasn't broken down at all. He noticed I had an Amsoil box with me and told me he uses it also in both his trucks.

(He asked me where I get mine. Nick, I gave him a card of yours. :D)

After everything checked out, new oil was in, I ventured off, towards home.

In the short, 20 mile drive home, I didn't think I would notice a difference, but I did.

1. It is 'purring' now. Running incredibly smooth.

2. Lifter noise has decreased. (notorious for the 5.4 engines :()

3. MORE POWER! Since the engine seems to be running smoother, (I know, it's new oil but...) it is more responsive. It runs smoother than it ever has. :dunno:

I know I haven't driven it that much on the new oil but when I notice this much of a difference, I'm impressed.

The Hemi is getting his dose of Amsoil on Saturday!

My truck is quieter running Amsoil than it was running Mobil1. I can't tell any other difference but I was impressed that the engine is quieter.

I haven't noticed and difference other than the quieter lifters in mine. Engine is noticeably quieter.

I got to meet Nick in Sept 09, and bought a case of Amsoil from him when he came to Richmond for a meeting. :D
I changed my oil about 3 weeks later, and today my DIC tells me I have 60% left on the change... 9 months later:thumbs:
I still have six quarts stashed at my Mechanics shop for the next change.

I will definitely buy another case in 2013/14 .:thumbs::lol:

Shanin, glad you got it changed out. I was wondering when you were going to have it done.

Some see a difference and some don't. The nature of the beast.
