It was in 1960...

My first car ... that I actually bought myself, was a '50 Ford convertible...
I took it to Mexico and had it painted with 8 coats of BLACK LACQUER...
Had the interior... including all the door panels covered in white and gold leather and had a new white top put on it.
It was lowered all the way around with fender skirts and a Continental Kit.
 :rollin:

It was WAY COOL at that time... back in the day...

Jim do you have pictures of that bad boy and if so can you post them?
Some members said you guys started with old cars
well we are old
then some other member said he had a VW that would go where some 4x4 wouldn't go I believe it my brother had one back in 1967 he would do the same thing and being a hour from south padre island we had ton's of fun with it and taking it fishing.

Yep .. there are a few of us that have been around for a while...
Some of the members PARENTS weren't even born yet, when I got my drivers license..
I got my license in 1958...

I wish I did have pictures of it.
It was a really nice car and the first one I bought with my own money.

Before that, I had drove Dad's cars...
first a 58 Impala with the 348 Tri Power...
then a '59 Ford with the retractable Hardtop,
then a '60 Pontiac Bonneville with the 389 and Tri Power.

Dad liked fast cars....
My dad did to. The one I remember the most is his 66 Mercury Marauder with a 428 4 brl in it. I remember that one cause I blew the trans in it racing.....:D
