First car/truck.

Do you guys remember getting your first car/truck and how old were you? It might have been asked before but im bored.

Ok here I go it was 1975 and my brother in laws friend was getting rid of his 1970 GTO I was 15 and at the same time my other brother in law was getting rid of his 1969 Firebird both were nice but I have to say the Firebird was in better shape and four on the floor but I wanted the GTO so on 8/5/1976 I bought it for $900.00 dollars on my birthday my mom took out a loan at some little fiance place so it was like three times the $900.00 but I got it.

I remember driving it home with my mom and I stomped on it at a stop sign my mom hit me on the arm and said your going to mess it up on the first day I was laughing. I can say it was one of the best days in my life. I had the fastest car in high school and only one car beat me but it was from another town. I wish I knew what I know now I would have put a posi and better gear than the 323 gears it had once it would stop spinning it was gone. The good old days.

I think there is a thread on this somewhere. My first car was a 1967 Plymouth Sport Fury. It had a 383 under the hood. I bought it with my first paycheck in June of '76, a month before I got my DL.

I bought my first car in 69 using the money I saved as down payment delivering Newspapers on a bicycle for 4 years.

The parents helped by co-signing a loan for me. I got a 69 VW bug, light blue, with a dark blue interior. I ran the shit out of it, and it never let me down. I took it places 4WD trucks would hesitate to go.

My first car was a 61 Mercury Monterey Convertible. Bought it in 72 for 75.00. I beat the hell out of that old car.

Yellow 1969 El Camino, 396 under the hood. Got it when I was 15 which was back in 1999.

My first was an '84 Ford Ranger. It didn't last very long. Not to long after it I got an '85 Silverado that my old man and I built up from a body and a frame. I had it all throughout high school and 5 or 6 years after. I ended up selling it to some kid that tore the living shit out of it. A couple years back I found it on craigslist and bought it back intending on restoring it back, but it was pretty far gone. I ended up trading it for another little pickup and that was that. Got pics though.

When I had it. (Keep in mind euros were once cool. )

It was in 1960...

My first car ... that I actually bought myself, was a '50 Ford convertible...
I took it to Mexico and had it painted with 8 coats of BLACK LACQUER...
Had the interior... including all the door panels covered in white and gold leather and had a new white top put on it.
It was lowered all the way around with fender skirts and a Continental Kit.


It was WAY COOL at that time... back in the day...
