My firewall on the inside has a big plastic box that looks like the heat and air duct that is right in the way behind where it looks like the hole goes, did you do anything special there also bigred?
I don't mind snapping more pics for you. I'll get some this weekend when I get back home and try to get as much detail on them as possible. It took me several weeks to work all of my routes out in my head. Then it was many hours with the truck tore apart doing the job. But I have no regrets and have yet to have any problems with any of my installs.
If you can get your hands on a electricians knock out set it will make the job even easier. One of the kits that you use to punch holes in conduit boxes.
I don't need a big hole just a couple 10 gauge wires for power and ground from the battery to my ham amp.
I tried easing the big boot out some to slip the wires in the side but it wouldn't budge, I thought about figuring out some way to make a hole in it but I haven't come up with anything yet.
Alright, best I could get considering how tight everything is.
Throttle position module, just need to unbolt it and unplug it.
My wire is coming through in the wire loom, just to the left of the tip of my finger.
IIRC, I used a razor knife and trimmed back that plastic covering before I put the fitting in. That shaft you see in the pic is the brake booster shaft, look to the left of it and see the gland and wire loom coming out. Pretty tight up in there.
The last picture is the wires coming in under the dash, yeah there is a bunch of shit in the way. I have them routed all the way into the center console, if I pull out the cup holder it gives me access to the modules I am powering for the gauges.
As far as a slit goes, no I tried to avoid it on this truck. Have I done it before, yes and it will work just make sure it's sealed up with some silicone or something.
