A friend has a brand new 2010 Dodge HD CC LB with a Hemi. He had dual exhaust put on before it left the lot with 2 Magnaflow 12479s installed.

This thing is LOUD! The drone is horrible.

He is so disappointed. His wife hates it, they have a newborn that cries when the droning starts.

Anyhow, there is no room in front of the mufflers for resonators, so I thought I would help him install a couple after the mufflers. He is tight on cash, and doesn't want to spend a ton getting it re-done, and the wife would flip out.

Does anybody see an issue with installing them after the mufflers?

I know GM does this on factory set-ups, but all the custom jobs (mine included) I have seen have the resonator before the muffler.

Thoughts?

Of coarse it will work just fine.

I guess I should have been more clear, the concern was of course, the sound. When I had mine done, the guy was adament about putting the res first. He does excellent work, and I have no reason to doubt him.

Thanks for the replies, I think we will get it done.

Hell, it's not my truck :D

The stock resonator on mine is behind the muffler, actually right before the tailpipe bends to exit behind the wheel. I will try to get a pic later if you need it, but I will be tied up for a few hours at least.

Boy, I hate it when she does that to me, but what the heck; it's almost Christmas.
Have a Merry one, all!

Yeah I would think the resonator would work just fine after the muffler.

He's going to pick up 2-4x14 Magnaflows tomorrow, so we should be able to do it this weekend.

My 08 Ram stock had resonators before the muffler (just behind each cat) and one on the tailpipe (single pipe) pretty much right behind the rear tire. Facebook isn't letting me in right now and that's the only place I have pictures of that truck but I will see if I have any that show the rear resonator.
