The only real result from additives is a fatter wallet for the people selling them.

Anyone ever used/tried the "Restore" product?
(the one that goes in the oil and is supposed to improve compression)

Shell is offering an additivated ethanol in Brazil, branded as V-Power Ethanol. I don't know what is exactly the additive used on it, but it's reported to clean the injector lines, reduce the corrosibility of the ethanol over metallic surfaces and improve lubricity on valve seats. Believe me, a good 2-stroke engine oil can do it, even in a 4-stroke engine. A safe blend is about 5% oil. I have seen some old people using regular 4-stroke oil blended to the ethanol too, but it must not be waste oil.
