Pull the cap and have a look inside Gary. I've seen aftermarket caps get pretty corroded over a short time. What you describe sounds like a plug wire breaking down. Does it get worse on damp mornings?

Haven't really noticed any difference,we haven't had that many damp mornings...it's raining today so I'll pay a little better attention.I don't remember what kind of wires I put on last year but I'll prolly replace 'em anyway. We carry all the stuff for a tune up where I work so I'll prolly just do that.

We sell STI,BWD & Delphi wires & tune up parts, also NGK & Denso plugs.....any preferences?

When I tuned my truck up a a few months ago, I used the AC Delco Iridiums, "I know iridiums won't work in yours" and Delphi wires. NGK are what were originally in my truck. What's funny is one side of the plug was stamped NGK, and the other side had AC Delco on it.
I'd still change the fuel filter while you're at it. What can it hurt?

I had a Cavalier that did that to me. Turned out that two cylinders had a REALLY weak spark. I then narrowed the weak spark issue to a bad ign coil pack. So I would double check the plugs, wires, and distributor cap regardless of age. I know it was advised to do a tune up every year on the older Chevy engines. Not sure about the mid 90's engines though. :dunno:

If you do end up doin a tuneup again I say go with better parts. An accel or msd cap will be a good investment. I would also do a seafoam treatment. Cleaning out t6he upper intake cant hurt. Fuel filter is good idea and I recommend using a Lucas fuel treatment. I just put one in the truck and drove it about 60 miles and I swear it runs smoother.

Get a spray bottle ... put water in it...
At night, raise the hood with the engine running... "LIGHTLY" spray a mist over and around the plug wires...
If one of them is bad... it will arc...

On the Cadillac board... they occasionally have a problem like that when the platinum pad comes off of the plug... assuming you are even using the Platinum plugs...

Personally... I would go with the AC Delco plugs that the owners manual recommends and GM wires.
They have already been tested and validated for use in your truck.
No need to do the testing for some other company...

Just my opinion...

Gonna replace the wires reguardless, when I change plugs I always fWONk a couple up:fume::lol:We have Delphi parts at work so I'll be using those wires.

Replaced some vacuum lines going to the MAP sensor then checked it for power & signal to the ECM......all good

Gary... do you have access to a GOOD code reader to plug into it ??
Some of them can monitor while you are driving and tell you which plug is missing...
It will be a P0300 type code...
P0300 is random misfire..
P0301 is cylinder 1...
P0302 is cylinder 2 ... etc..etc..
