Thats great!, I have to baby the shit out of my truck to get 16impg.
That's cause it doesn't have the AFMz. :jester:

I was getting similar mileage with my tahoe but this has a load more power, the back seat is bigger and I have more toys
Understandable. Yeah we just have a running joke around here cause the majority of people hate the AFM but it works for me. 18.5 mpg for my truck.

I'm getting about 12 MPG on my first tank of gas... But I'm also going WOT to redline at almost every chance I get

That being said, I'm still going to get over 300 miles to a tank of fuel.
If I drive it easy (not babying it, but not stomping on the pedal) I could easilly see me getting 16 - 18 MPG city.

As for the 5.0 getting a lower towing rating, I'm guessing that's due to the lower peak value...

The 5.0 builds torque way faster than the ecoboost according to Pickuptrucks.com, unless the 5.0 is not availiable with the same gearing options that the ecoboost gets.

Sorry I haven't updated this. I have been underway. Truck now has 2900 miles on it. Last tank of fuel was 396.2 miles, 22.1 gallons for 17.92 MPG. Dash showed 18.0 truck averaged 40mph for that tank of fuel, so a bit more highway. Wife says overal fuel mileage is improving as the motor loosens up. We are taking it camping in about a month so i will get some good highway numbers then.
