I would not be a happy camper! Id does look like the tuck survived with only minor damage though - that's good!

How would you have likes to have been standing under that thing. If you were still alive, I bet your pants would be full.

Where were the safety latches? I have never seen a lift that didn't have a lock mechanism as it goes up to keep this from happening. Ours has them spread about every 6 inches to take the load off of the cables.

Hopefully he can work a deal to have those God-awful decals removed when they have it in the paint booth.

See what happens when you put dumb stickers on your ride? :dunno:

Wow! I would have killed someone!

At least it looks like the truck survived relatively untouched (from the pics anyways). Looks like it'll need a new fender and a hood. Maybe some work on the driver's bed side if it hit the post.

oh yea, if the tailgate wasnt down it would have completely flipped off the lift, the truck came up and the tailgate hit the back driverside post and kept it from going over all the way then it went back down on its wheels... They would be giving me a really good deal on trade in and awesome deal on a new one.

You would like to think so, but one of those little disclaimers on the bottom/back of the work order you sign to let them work on your vehicle probably precludes them from any liability outside of actual proven damages. About the best the owner can probably hope for is an insurance check for repairs and possibly a diminished value claim.
