I have to remove mine. It's a raised hitch and I can't open the tailgate with it in.
I broke my cover this winter so I'm thinking of going with this.

I take mine out. It would probably get stolen if I don't lock it up, and I am usually the one who walks around behind the truck and gets my knee on it. If somebody rear ends me, they can just buy me some new sheetmetal and an aftermarket rear bumper. :jester:
