I only get an alignment when the tires are wearing poorly. We never had to align our 08 Acadia, but had to on the 2011 because of the curb that jumped out in front of me while in Charleston SC. Now I have to replace the wheel bearing in that wheel, it is starting to make a noise and is getting louder each month.

I had my Jetta aligned when I first got it and never had it touched since and tires are wearing well at 80k miles since I purchased it.

But for some reason my truck needs it more than any thing else. I start to see tire wear and take it in, but in the 12yrs I have owned it, I have had it aligned 3 times. I guess it might be due to some of the off road fun I have on occasion. :D

I had my old GMC for 9 years and 100,000 miles and never had it aligned. I had no reason to...:D

I typically have my alignment checked when I make an altitude change, but that's it.

I find it easier to just buy new cars before it needs an alignment. Though hopefully I have the Tahoe longer than the last two. :fingersx:

I got mine aligned just before the new tires, seems like it tracks more perfect now. I didn't even align it after the bumper. But it didn't wear tires funny before. Guy at the body shop was just telling me he thinks front end ornaments wear out the front end. But 90% of the trucks with them are cranked too, which might have something to do with it...

I should add that I certainly agree an alignment should be done if you alter your ride height or replace suspension parts.

Only align a car/truck when lifting, lowering, or new wheels/tires. My grandfather has over 175k and went through probably 8 sets on nittos terra grapplers and never had an alignment or any issues.

Ive got a lifetime alignment at Firestone. When I bought the truck and got new tires I wanted to make sure it was ok and a lifetime alignment is less than the price of two alignments. Ive only had a few done but need to get one done once I get the leveling struts that are in my garage installed.

Did that with my F-150 I had since I knew I would be changing rims and lifting. Good thing to have honestly. Well worth the money in my case. I had probably 6 alignments in a year with all the trouble I had with it lol.
