Pretty sure you would have to change the air handling system as well. The models with auto AC use motorized actuators to move everything. Best bet if you wanted to jump in to this project might be to locate a crunched truck with auto AC in a local boneyard, so you could get everything you needed.

All of the pre-03 GMT-800s (including the Denali and Escalade) used this three-knob setup for the auto climate control

The vehicles with auto climate control had a different ambient light sensor and a small fan in the headliner above the driver as well.

This project will now be at the WAY end of my "to do" list. I love my truck and have no intention of getting rid of it for a newer/older one so I want to do changes that make it unique. Blending aftermarket with factory options that either didn't come with the truck or weren't available. Money is a factor so I have to prioritize and research the feasablility.

Sometimes though we all run across opurtunities to get junk/used parts etc. so it's nice to know what to look for just in case.:thumbs:
